BOVEN DIGOEL – World-renowned author Helen Keller once said, “The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched — they must be felt with the heart.” This speaks to our souls as part of Papuan society and an oil palm plantation operator in South Papua.
With a rich natural landscape and more-than-welcoming residents, this province has allowed us to feel Mother Earth’s warmth. Its kindness has enabled us to keep our word to do our best for Papua through a variety of programs centered on sharing love.
Just a while ago, we hosted a luncheon for 32 kids and nuns from a boarding school owned by Putri Reinha Rosari Convent in Asiki (Sub)village, Jair District, Boven Digoel.
Regardless of race, religion, and background, everyone was eating at the same table. With this activity, we hoped to create long-lasting, friendly relations with the locals, including students and staff from the boarding school.
“Through this visit, we want to build a great relationship with nearby communities,” said Tunas Sawa Erma Group representative Florianus Padur, who attended the event.
To liven up the mood, we brought over colored pencil sets and sketchbooks to share with the kids. Nun and headmistress Maria Faustine made known her gratitude, adding that the company “brought an atmosphere of joy” that day.
