The Coordinating Ministry for Economis Affairs called on all parties in the country to unite together to raise the image of the Indonesian palm oil in overseas market.

“We have to strengthen ISPO to convince the world that Indonesia concern about environmental issues,” said Deputy for Food and Agricultural Ministry dor Economic Affairs, Musdalifah Machmud on Wednesday (07/12/2016).

She explained there are many NGOs that defame Indonesia’s main commodities in foreign market.

This is proven by the emersion of many negative campaign related to palm oil.

“If there are indeed some environmental problems, it should be reported directly to the parties concerned,” said Musdalifah.

She added that the government must take action against certain NGOs that often make negative campaign.

For instance, by making rules and standards which do not comply with the provision of the government and impose it to the palm oil enterpreneurs.

“That is why such NGOs need to be audited and re-reviewed. Maybe it is the authority of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights,” said Musdalifah.
