Boven Digoel – Tunas Sawa Erma (TSE) Group gave entrepreneurial lessons to SMK 3 Boven Digoel students on Tuesday (4/11). (SMK 3 Boven Digoel is a vocational school in Boven Digoel.) The short class was an attempt to create creative and innovative individuals, and provide knowledge of the business world and future business opportunities.
TSE Group’s PR staff and speaker for the day, Anggi Pratama, hoped to see participants creating new jobs and driving economic development in their homes and communities after finishing the class. “Our goal is to push them into their roles as breadwinners for both their families and the nation, which they can fulfill through entrepreneurship.”
Excitement could be seen in the eyes of the audience, who joined the event at one of TSE Group’s company locations in Getentiri (Sub)village, Jair District, Boven Digoel Regency, South Papua Province.
There was also a law lecture by PR Deputy General Manager Daniel Sim Ayomi, BSS, LL.B., MPA, which aimed at preventing delinquent behavior. This was followed with some encouragement to help the kids gain strong motivation to achieve their life purpose and dreams.
“This is a great activity. We do hope the [company] management turns it into a semiannual program, since business education and legal awareness are important. Both have a lot to do with the kids’ futures and character building. [Also,] so that our students graduate with the skills to adapt to the new environment that is the working world,” said the school principal, Rufinus Nemokai.
TSE then kicked things up a notch with a quiz session, which tested students on their knowledge and comprehension. Both boys and girls were bright-eyed as they rushed to answer each question, aiming to win prizes the guests prepared as a reward and motivational booster.
Park Zoozang, general manager of TSE Group subsidiary PT TSE, thanked the audience and hoped they would uphold honesty, discipline, and responsibility at all times.
This Social Education activity is a part of the company’s Corporate Social Contribution (CSC) programs, which was meant to help the Getentiris build their social environment from its educational aspect. (Besse/TSE)
