Kegiatan penyuluhan dan pelatihan yang diadakan Komnas HAM Provinsi Papua dan TSE Group untuk masyarakat asli Papua di Asiki, Boven Digoel pada Rabu hingga Jumat (15-17/12)

BOVEN DIGOEL – Komisi Nasional Hak Asasi Manusia (Komnas HAM) Papua memberikan apresiasi atas upaya Tunas Sawa Erma (TSE) Group memberikan penyuluhan dan pelatihan HAM terhadap masyarakat pemilik hak ulayat. Kegiatan ini menjadi komitmen keterbukaan TSE Group untuk melakukan rekomendasi Komnas HAM.

Bekerja sama dengan Komnas HAM Papua, TSE Group mengadakan penyuluhan dan pelatihan mengenai HAM di Asiki, Boven Digoel, pada Rabu hingga Jumat (15-17/12). Acara ini dipimpin langsung oleh Ketua Komnas HAM Papua Frits B. Ramandey.

“Saya mengapresiasi penuh upaya TSE yang telah membuka diri untuk melakukan rekomendasi Komnas HAM Papua berupaya penyuluhan dan pelatihan HAM untuk masyarakat adat,” ucapnya.

Kegiatan edukasi HAM diikuti oleh perwakilan seluruh unit usaha TSE Group dan tiap ketua marga yang berada di areal perusahaan. Frits menjelaskan, kegiatan ini ditujukan agar para peserta, terutama masyarakat adat, dapat mengadvokasi dirinya dengan menyampaikan informasi berdasarkan data di lapangan dalam bentuk laporan yang bisa dipertanggungjawabkan.

General Manager Umum TSE Group Jemmy Senduk menuturkan, penyuluhan dan pelatihan ini merupakan tindak lanjut rekomendasi Komnas HAM Papua. “Tujuannya agar masyarakat adat bisa memahami apa sebenernya yang menjadi hak mereka terhadap perusahaan dan bagaimana penerapannya dalam kehidupan mereka,” ujarnya.

Dalam pelatihan, seluruh peserta mendapatkan materi hak-hak masyarakat adat atas lingkungan hidup yang sehat, bentuk pelanggaran HAM dalam bisnis, serta teknik penulisan laporan dan pengajuan HAM. Melalui materi-materi tersebut, Jemmy berharap, wawasan HAM masyarakat asli Papua semakin luas hingga bisa mewujudkan penghormatan dan penghargaan atas hak-hak mereka.

Salah satu pemilik hak ulayat, Paskalis Kinun Wohing menyambut baik pelatihan yang diadakan oleh TSE Group dan Komnas HAM Provinsi Papua. “Pelatihannya sangat bagus dan bermanfaat bagi kami. Semoga, Komnas HAM Provinsi Papua dapat menjadi jembatan antara pemberian hak-hak oleh TSE Group dengan masyarakat adat,” katanya.

Komitmen TSE Group terhadap pemenuhan HAM masyarakat asli Papua di sekitar perusahaan tidak berhenti di sini. Rencananya, pada 2022, TSE Group akan melewati proses penilaian terhadap standar bisnis dan hak asasi yang berlaku di dalam perusahaan. Penilaian dilakukan oleh Komnas HAM Provinsi Papua.  (PPA Humas S&C)

The counseling and training held by Komnas HAM of Papua Province and TSE Group for indigenous Papuans in Asiki, Boven Digoel on Wednesday to Friday (15-17/12)

BOVEN DIGOEL – The National Commission on Human Rights (Komnas HAM) Papua gave appreciation for the efforts from Tunas Sawa Erma (TSE) Group in providing counseling and training on human rights to the community of customary rights owners. This activity is a commitment on openness from TSE Group in order to follow the recommendations from Komnas HAM.

In collaboration with Komnas HAM Papua, TSE Group held counseling and training on human rights in Asiki, Boven Digoel, on Wednesday to Friday (15-17/12). The activity was led by the Chairman of Komnas HAM Papua Frits B. Ramandey.

“I wholly appreciate the efforts from TSE for being open to the recommendations from Komnas HAM Papua in seeking counseling and training on human rights for indigenous people,” he said.

These educational activity on human rights was attended by the representatives of all business units of TSE Group and every clan chiefs living in the company area. Frits explained that this activity was intended to allow the participants, especially the indigenous people to be able to advocate for themselves by conveying information based on the field data in the form of reports that can be accounted for.

The General Manager of TSE Group Jemmy Senduk said that the counseling and training was a follow up of the recommendations from Komnas HAM Papua. “The goal is for the indigenous people to be able to understand what their rights are from the company and how it is implemented in their lives,” he explained.

In the training, all participants received materials on the indigenous people’s rights to a healthy living environment, forms of human rights violations in business, as well as techniques on writing and submitting reports on human rights. With these materials, Jemmy hoped that the indigenous Papuans would have a deeper knowledge on human rights so they could earn the respect and appreciation for their rights.

One of the customary rights owners, Paskalis Kinun Wohing welcomed the training that was held by TSE Group and Komnas HAM of Papua Province. “The training was very good and beneficial for us. I hope Komnas HAM of Papua Province can be a bridge between granting of rights from TSE Group to the indigenous people,” he said.

TSE Group’s commitment on the human rights fulfillment of indigenous Papuans around the company area does not stop there. In 2022, TSE Group plans to go through an assessment process on business standards and rights in the company. The assessment will be carried out by Komnas HAM of Papua Province.  (PPA Humas S&C)
